The Taxi Stand
On New Year’s Eve, taxi drivers are encouraged to use the temporary Taxi ranks set up for the occasion. When highways are closed, access to taxi ranks in the Sydney Central Business District (CBD), Pyrmont, and North Sydney regions is also cut off.
The following taxi stands (with the exception of Lime St) will be open on New Year’s Eve beginning at 9 p.m. and continuing until 4 a.m. on New Year’s Day.
Between King and Market, you’ll find Sussex Street (western side) It’s on Liverpool St., between Wentworth Ave. and Elizabeth St. (southern side) From 9-11pm and 1:30am-4:00am on King St Wharf, Lime St to Erskine St. The section of Pyrmont Bridge Road between Edward Street and Pirrama Road (northern side) Darling Harbour’s Zollner Circuit, Between George and Pitt Streets on Goulburn (southern side)
Taxi stands across the city will have security personnel on hand for New Year’s Eve, including:
Hours are 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. daily at 33 Bayswater Road. Location: 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Darlinghurst Road close to Roslyn Street. Among Pelican and Riley Streets on Oxford St. from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Limited hours of operation are from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. and 1.30 a.m. to 4 a.m. at the northern end on Lime Street in Darling Harbour. Limited service on Sussex Street through King and Market streets from 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., and from 1.30 a.m. and 4 a.m. At 43-57 Goulburn St, Sydney Central Business District, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. From 9 p.m. until 4 a.m., you may find me at Zollner Circuit. From 9pm till 4am, you may find me on Pyrmont Bridge Road. Times: 9 p.m.-4 a.m.; Liverpool Street and Hyde Park.
